In a world saturated with filtered smiles, highlight reels, and carefully curated lives, happiness often feels closer to illusion than reality. We scroll, compare, strive, and still wonder: Why does fulfillment feel so elusive? THE MYSTERY OF HAPPINESS by Conrad Santa, Jr., invites you to step beyond surface-level joy and into a deeper, more authentic understanding of what it truly means to live a happy life.

This thought-provoking and accessible book explores happiness not as a fleeting emotion, but as a multidimensional experience shaped by purpose, relationships, resilience, authenticity, and perspective. Drawing from philosophy, psychology, lived experience, and mindful reflection, it unravels why happiness looks different for everyone, and how each of us can cultivate it in a meaningful, lasting way.

Rather than offering quick fixes or empty positivity, this book confronts the real paradox of modern life: despite unprecedented access to comfort and opportunity, many feel disconnected, dissatisfied, and unseen. Through honest insight and practical wisdom, it challenges society’s obsession with external validation and redirects us toward internal fulfillment.

Inside this book, you’ll explore:

  • What happiness really is, and why it’s so hard to define
  • The balance between emotions, life satisfaction, and well-being
  • Ancient wisdom from philosophers like Aristotle, applied to modern life
  • The role of gratitude, mindfulness, and resilience in daily joy
  • Why meaningful relationships are the heartbeat of happiness
  • The connection between purpose, identity, and fulfillment
  • How authenticity and vulnerability unlock deeper joy
  • The impact of environment, money, and culture on well-being
  • Practical tools for self-reflection, growth, and lasting change

Each chapter serves as a guidepost, helping you bridge the gap between who you are and whom you aspire to be. Along the way, you’ll be invited to ask powerful questions: What truly matters? What do I want my life to stand for? What do I want to be remembered for?

Conrad Santa Jr.'s THE MYSTERY OF HAPPINESS is not just a book to read or listen to, it’s a journey to experience. Whether you’re feeling stuck, searching for purpose, or simply longing for a richer, more grounded life, this book offers clarity, hope, and direction. If you’ve ever wondered who really has happiness, and how to get it, this book is for you.

ALTER THE CAUSE is not a band biography.
It is a witness.

Told across five volumes, this book documents the true story behind the music—faith under pressure, conviction without shortcuts, and the cost of choosing integrity when momentum would have been easier.

Written by Scott Anthony Stevens, ALTER THE CAUSE traces the origins, fractures, collapse, and rebuilding of a post-grunge hard-rock band that refused to treat belief as performance or pain as branding. From early ambition and near burnout to silence, restraint, and clarity, this is a story about confronting the root instead of managing the symptoms.

The COMPANION ALBUM captures the sound of that journey.
This book carries the weight behind it.

These pages do not offer easy answers or packaged theology. They document faith as it is lived, questioned, tested, and practiced daily when certainty fades and applause disappears. Doubt is not edited out. Silence is not rushed. Truth is allowed to take the time it requires.

ALTER THE CAUSE is for readers and listeners drawn to honest storytelling at the intersection of music, belief, and resilience. It speaks to artists, seekers, and anyone who has wrestled with identity, purpose, or conviction under pressure.

This is not a story about success.
It is a story about alignment.

Nothing used.
Nothing wasted.

ALTER THE CAUSE is a Christian post-grunge hard rock band from Savannah, Georgia, rooted in the faith-driven alternative rock and modern Christian hard rock niche. Blending raw emotional vocals, spiritual conviction, and crushing, guitar-driven heaviness, the band creates a sound that’s powerful, introspective, and unapologetically heavy. Drawing influence from post-grunge, modern hard rock, and worship-inspired Christian rock, ALTER THE CAUSE delivers anthem-ready, guitar-forward songs centered on hope, resilience, redemption, and truth—music for listeners navigating real-world struggle, faith, and purpose with unfiltered honesty.

About the author

Scott Anthony Stevens is a songwriter, author, and creative visionary whose work explores the intersection of faith, brokenness, and redemption. Best known as the driving force behind the Christian post-grunge hard-rock project ALTER THE CAUSE, Stevens brings the same raw honesty and emotional depth from his music into his writing.

Drawing from real-world struggle, personal restoration, and spiritual conviction, his stories are grounded in lived experience rather than theory. His work speaks to readers navigating loss, doubt, identity, and the long road back to purpose—offering truth without polish and hope without pretense.

Stevens writes for those who feel caught between who they were and who they are becoming. His voice is direct, reflective, and unafraid to confront hard questions, while always pointing toward transformation at the root.

When not writing or creating music, Scott Anthony Stevens focuses on building faith-driven creative projects that encourage honesty, healing, and personal growth through art.
